Overview

  • The U1 line now only runs a 15-minute service between Wittenbergplatz and Uhlandstraße, extending to Nollendorfplatz in the evenings, as drivers are diverted into new-vehicle training.
  • Passengers on the suspended section between Warschauer Straße and Wittenbergplatz are urged to switch to the U3, which is maintaining a 5-minute headway with the longest available trains.
  • Six S-Bahn lines—S45, S46, S47, S8, S85 and S9—remain suspended between Schöneweide and Baumschulenweg, with a 20-minute pendulum shuttle and bus replacement service in place.
  • S-Bahn Berlin anticipates the Schöneweide signal box will return to full operation by 20:00 today, but a firm timetable for regular services remains uncertain.
  • BVG plans to introduce new U-Bahn vehicles after the summer holidays to address chronic fleet aging and relieve current personnel pressures.
