Berlin's Karneval der Kulturen Announces Route Change for 2025 Parade

The iconic cultural festival will shift its June 8 parade to Friedrichshain and Mitte due to construction in Kreuzberg.

The Karneval der Kulturen, a celebration of diversity and tolerance, will take place from June 6 to June 9, 2025, with its street festival remaining in Kreuzberg.
This year’s parade on June 8 will move from its traditional route on Gneisenaustraße in Kreuzberg to Frankfurter Allee in Friedrichshain and Mitte due to ongoing construction.
Organizers aim to use the new route to build connections with the Friedrichshain community and foster new partnerships.
The festival, which attracted 1.1 million attendees in 2024, is seen as a vital platform for promoting democracy, inclusion, and unity in a time of societal division.
The event originated in the 1990s as a response to racist violence and will align with a youth rally under the theme 'Courageous. Humane. Together.' in Berlin this year.
