Berlin Zoo's Panda Twins Open Eyes for the First Time

Six weeks after their birth, the panda twins at Berlin Zoo have reached a major developmental milestone by opening their eyes.

The panda twins, both females, were born on August 22 and are now 48 days old.
The eye-opening milestone typically occurs between 40 and 50 days after birth, aligning with the zoo's expectations.
Zoo Director Andreas Knieriem confirmed the twins weigh approximately 2.2 to 2.3 kilograms each.
Starting October 16, visitors can see one of the panda twins daily for an hour in the Panda Garden exhibit.
This is only the second time panda cubs have been born in Germany, following the birth of their siblings Pit and Paule five years ago.
