Berlin Woman Charged for Threatening Man with Saber During Boat Encounter

The 43-year-old is accused of stealing cigarettes and a lighter before using a sheathed saber to intimidate a 22-year-old man in September 2024.

The woman allegedly asked the man for a cigarette, then took his entire pack and lighter when he paddled over to her boat.
When the man followed her onto her boat to retrieve his belongings, she reportedly threatened him with a saber still in its sheath.
The man fled the scene after the alleged threats, and the woman kept the stolen items.
The Berlin public prosecutor has charged the woman with aggravated theft in a less severe case, and the trial will take place at the Amtsgericht Tiergarten.
