Berlin Traffic Fatalities Rise to 47 in 2024

Two cyclists recently died from injuries sustained in separate road accidents, contributing to the increase in deaths.

A 17-year-old cyclist died after being hit by a car while crossing Mühlenstraße in Pankow.
A 63-year-old cyclist succumbed to injuries from a collision on Oranienburger Straße in Wittenau.
This year, 10 cyclists, 20 pedestrians, 7 motorcyclists, 6 car occupants, and 4 others have died in traffic incidents.
The current number of 47 traffic deaths marks an increase from last year's total of 33.
Many of the deceased were elderly, highlighting a vulnerable demographic in traffic accidents.
