Berlin S-Bahn Prepares for Major Service Disruptions Starting April 11
Track maintenance and construction projects will close key routes, with replacement buses and alternative transit options in place to assist passengers.
- The S-Bahn route between Ostbahnhof and Alexanderplatz will close for 11 days starting Friday, April 11, affecting lines S3, S5, S7, S9, and partially S75.
- Replacement buses will operate on the affected route, running every 7-8 minutes during peak hours and less frequently during off-peak times.
- Passengers are encouraged to use alternative transit options, including U-Bahn line 5 and regional trains, to bypass the closure.
- Additional construction between Erkner and Rahnsdorf will begin April 11, with replacement buses running until May 5, while a separate S5 closure between Strausberg Nord and Strausberg is set to last until April 25.
- Passengers using replacement buses must purchase tickets in advance, as onboard ticket sales will not be available.
