Berlin Police Release Photo to Identify Suspect in June Gesundbrunnen Shooting After Prior SEK Arrest

Police release a photo seeking tips on a second suspect from the June Gesundbrunnen shooting.

  • Investigators published an image and description to identify a man believed to have taken part in a June 26 confrontation in Gesundbrunnen in which a 28-year-old was shot in the foot.
  • The sought individual is described as about 30 years old, 185–187 cm tall, slim, with a dark chin and jaw beard, a prominent black eyebrow, a black Nike cap, a black jacket and a red T-shirt.
  • Police ask for information via the Fachkommissariat of Polizeidirektion 1 (Nord) in Pankstraße, by phone, email, the Internetwache or any police station.
  • A 32-year-old alleged shooter was arrested by SEK officers in Wedding in early September and has been in pretrial detention since.
  • In a separate case in Kreuzberg, officers arrested a 22-year-old on Thursday after an attempted robbery in which he displayed a handgun and struck the victim with the grip; a loaded pistol was seized and he is to be brought before an investigative judge.
