• Landeskriminalamt Berlin and the Berlin prosecutor’s office issued a fresh witness call on September 16, 2025 in the long-unsolved homicide.
• Michael Bartelt was shot multiple times from a vehicle near the Ernst-Barlach-Straße/Warnemünder Straße intersection in Hohenschönhausen late on August 13, 2009 and died shortly afterward.
• The attackers remain unidentified more than 16 years later, and investigators hope new information can advance the case.
• Authorities seek sightings of suspicious persons or vehicles between 23:00 and 00:30 on the night of August 13–14, 2009, along with any photos or videos from the area.
