Overview
- Berlin police recorded 1,598 knife-related attacks and threats in the first half of 2025, an annualized decrease from the 3,412 cases reported in 2024.
- Berlin police have maintained area-wide knife bans in hotspot districts and extended the prohibition to the entire public transport system.
- Suspects were identified in 1,108 of the cases, with most individuals already known to authorities and predominantly male.
- Among identified suspects, 964 were adults, 106 were aged 14–17 and 56 were younger than 14.
- The highest incident counts appeared in Alexanderplatz, Wedding Zentrum, Tempelhofer Vorstadt, Reuterstraße and Neuköllner Mitte/Zentrum.
