Berlin Jewel Thieves Caught After High-Speed Chase and Nine Collisions

Two armed suspects fled in a car-sharing vehicle after robbing a Wilmersdorf jeweler, leading police on a chaotic pursuit across the city.

The robbery occurred Wednesday evening at a jeweler in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, where two masked and armed men forced the store owner and a customer into a side room before stealing valuables.
The suspects, aged 30 and 38, fled in a car-sharing vehicle, leading police on a high-speed chase through several districts, including Kreuzberg and Mitte.
During the pursuit, the suspects caused nine collisions, including damage to other vehicles, a house wall, E-scooters, and a postal box, and nearly hit a police officer who avoided injury by jumping aside.
The chase ended when the suspects' car collided with a police vehicle blocking their path; both suspects sustained minor injuries and were arrested at the scene.
The stolen goods were recovered from the suspects, and they are expected to face a judge soon; police have highlighted the recurring use of rental vehicles in such crimes.
