Overview
- Around 3 a.m. on July 17, three trans women aged 22, 23 and 26 were sexually harassed by about ten young men on the BVG N8 night bus heading toward Hermannplatz
- The attackers used explicit words and gestures and two men touched one woman’s legs and buttocks without consent
- Police arriving at Hermannplatz caused the group to flee and two 18-year-olds were detained for identity checks before being released
- The women sustained no physical injuries but were left visibly traumatized, authorities said
- The Landeskriminalamt’s specialized hate-crime unit has taken over the probe and is examining bus CCTV footage with suspects’ alleged Syrian nationality still unconfirmed
