Berlin finishes renovation of Neukölln refugee shelter for September opening

  • The former senior home on Sonnenallee has undergone full refurbishment, including heating system repairs and official handover to the Landesamt für Flüchtlingsangelegenheiten.
  • From September 1 the shelter will offer 290 places to families and individuals who previously stayed in reception centers or emergency accommodations.
  • Residents will be housed in 101 rooms designed for two to three people, with several units featuring attached sanitary facilities.
