Overview

• The former senior home on Sonnenallee has undergone full refurbishment, including heating system repairs and official handover to the Landesamt für Flüchtlingsangelegenheiten.
• From September 1 the shelter will offer 290 places to families and individuals who previously stayed in reception centers or emergency accommodations.
• Residents will be housed in 101 rooms designed for two to three people, with several units featuring attached sanitary facilities.
• The building provides shared kitchens, communal bathrooms and first-floor offices and counseling rooms for the operating organization.
• Officials are finalizing details of a neighborhood open house so local residents can tour the facility before it officially opens.
