Berlin Film Festival Introduces New Screening Venue and Festival Hub for 75th Edition

The Stage Bluemax Theater and Berlinale Hub75 aim to revitalize Potsdamer Platz after significant venue closures in recent years.

The Stage Bluemax Theater at Marlene-Dietrich-Platz will serve as a new 500-seat premiere screening venue for the 2025 Berlinale.
The theater will host the newly created Perspectives competition for first feature films and other premieres throughout the festival.
Berlinale Hub75, a temporary festival hub, will be built nearby to host free public talks, networking events, and industry gatherings.
These additions are part of a broader strategy to restore energy and accessibility to the festival’s central location in Potsdamer Platz, which lost 150,000 screening seats due to cinema closures in 2022.
The 75th Berlin Film Festival is scheduled to run from February 13 to 23, 2025, under the leadership of new festival director Tricia Tuttle.
