Berlin Expands Paid Parking on December 1 in Charlottenburg‑Wilmersdorf and Neukölln

Officials say the changes target long‑term parking to make spaces easier for residents.

Overview

  • Charlottenburg‑Wilmersdorf will switch six additional neighborhoods to paid parking from Monday, including areas around Amtsgerichtsplatz, Lietzensee, Halensee, Droysenstraße, Hochmeisterplatz and Eisenzahnstraße.
  • Neukölln’s Rollbergkiez becomes Park Zone 101 on December 1 with a €4 per hour visitor rate, while residents can obtain annual permits for €10.20 online.
  • Residents who have applied for permits but not yet received them may display the application confirmation in their car through the end of January 2026 without being fined.
  • Some tariffs and operating hours in newly covered Charlottenburg‑Wilmersdorf areas are still being finalized; existing managed blocks there charge about €2 per hour during set daytime hours with payment via meters or app.
  • Friedrichshain‑Kreuzberg plans two additional zones in 2026 (Friedenstraße in April and the Alexandrinenviertel in June), as debate continues over revenue versus quality‑of‑life goals, with Charlottenburg‑Wilmersdorf reporting €8.4 million in recent meter income.
