Berlin Burglary Suspect Critically Injured During Escape

A 44-year-old man fell down stairs while fleeing after being confronted by a resident during an attempted burglary in Berlin's Moabit neighborhood.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in a multi-family residence on Alt-Moabit street in Berlin.
The suspect, a 44-year-old man, reportedly broke into an apartment and encountered the 48-year-old tenant, who shouted for help.
While attempting to flee, the suspect was pursued by the tenant and fell down multiple stairs, losing consciousness.
Emergency responders reanimated the man at the scene and transported him to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police found no stolen items in the suspect’s possession and have launched an investigation into the incident.
