Berlin Brothers Sentenced to Prison for Violent Attack on Hospital Staff

Two brothers assaulted medical workers in a Berlin clinic after refusing to wait for treatment, resulting in non-suspended prison sentences.

The attack occurred on January 1, 2024, at a Berlin-Lichtenberg hospital when the brothers demanded immediate treatment for a minor injury sustained during a New Year’s celebration.
The 22-year-old was sentenced to two years and four months in prison, while the 26-year-old received one year and six months, both without probation due to prior convictions.
A doctor suffered a facial wound, and a nurse sustained a concussion after being knocked to the ground during the attack.
The youngest brother, aged 17, was also implicated but is currently missing and believed to have fled to Serbia, halting his legal proceedings.
The court emphasized the unprovoked nature of the violence, with the attackers citing frustration over delays as their motivation.
