Berlin-Brandenburg Adopts Metal and Electronics Industry Pay Deal

A pilot agreement reached in Hamburg extends to the capital region, providing staged pay increases over 25 months.

The agreement includes a 2.0% salary increase starting April 2025, followed by a 3.1% rise in April 2026.
Apprentices will see their monthly pay rise by €140 from January 2025, with a further 3.1% increase in April 2026.
The deal, initially reached after 18-hour negotiations in Hamburg, aims to cover all 3.9 million industry workers across 11 regions.
IG Metall originally sought a 7% increase over 12 months, but settled for a longer-term agreement to ensure stability.
Industry leaders acknowledge the agreement's strain but appreciate the planning certainty it provides amid economic challenges.
