Bengaluru Woman Found Murdered in Suitcase, Husband Detained After Suicide Attempt

Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, suspected of killing his wife Gauri in their Bengaluru apartment, was detained in Pune after fleeing and attempting suicide.

The body of 32-year-old Gauri Khedekar was discovered in a suitcase in her Bengaluru apartment on March 27, 2025, with stab injuries; the postmortem report is awaited to confirm the cause of death.
Her husband, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, fled to Pune after allegedly confessing to the landlord and Gauri’s parents about the murder.
Rakesh attempted suicide by consuming poison in Pune but was detained by police and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
The couple, originally from Maharashtra, moved to Bengaluru in February 2025 and were reportedly experiencing frequent marital disputes and domestic violence.
A murder case has been registered, forensic evidence has been collected from the crime scene, and police plan to interrogate Rakesh upon his recovery to determine the motive.
