Overview

• N Poojashri, 28, was found hanging on September 1 at her Sidedehalli home under Bagalagunte police limits, and an FIR was registered with the body sent to Victoria Hospital for postmortem.
• Police arrested her husband, J Nandish, and booked his mother, Shantamma, along with three others on charges including dowry harassment and abetment to suicide.
• Investigators said Poojashri had repeatedly complained of harassment by her husband and mother-in-law and alleged Nandish assaulted her after she questioned his relationship with another woman.
• Relatives alleged heavy dowry payments, deception about the husband’s background, and pressure to surrender salary, gold, and valuables, claims now part of the complaint.
• In a separate case earlier in the week, 27-year-old P Shilpa was found hanging in BTM Layout, and police detained her husband, Praveen, and his mother following a complaint of dowry harassment.
