Bengaluru police have booked the miscreants under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assaulting the agency workers.

  • The confrontation occurred on August 24 near the Royal Travels office opposite the Kalasipalya BMTC bus stand in Bengaluru.
  • The victim, a migrant labourer from Bihar, was questioned over a saffron towel and pushed, and his manager Harikrishna was also abused and assaulted when he intervened.
  • An initial non-cognizable report was converted into an FIR on August 25 with court permission as police opened a full probe.
  • The accused were identified as Tabrez, Imran Khan and Ajeez (or Azeej) Khan, who were arrested and remanded to 15 days of judicial custody.
  • Police booked charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing hurt, wounding religious feelings and intentional insult to provoke a breach of peace, and said the investigation is ongoing.
