  • On June 20, she allegedly stole three gold rings from another resident and disabled the floor’s CCTV camera wiring before being exposed.
  • Reddy summoned her on June 21 under the pretext of questioning the theft, threatened police action and allegedly raped her when she pleaded for mercy.
  • Hesitant at first, the victim later confided in a friend who secured legal assistance, and a hospital’s medico-legal report confirmed the assault.
  • Reddy was arrested on June 23, remanded to judicial custody and formally booked under sections 64(1), 74 and 75(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.
