Bengaluru Metro Adds Seventh Yellow Line Train to Cut Peak Waits to 10 Minutes
BMRCL also launches app-based unlimited QR passes to ease ticketing.
Overview
- The seventh train begins service on January 15 on the RV Road–Bommasandra corridor.
- Peak-hour frequency improves to roughly every 10 minutes from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday peak intervals trimmed to 14 minutes from 15.
- BMRCL says the change responds to sustained ridership growth and should reduce platform crowding and improve reliability.
- First and last train timings at RV Road and Bommasandra remain unchanged.
- Mobile unlimited QR passes for 1, 3 and 5 days launch January 15 via the Namma Metro app at Rs 250, Rs 550 and Rs 850, eliminating the Rs 50 smart-card deposit.
