Bengaluru East Corporation Seals 14 PGs Over Licence and SOP Breaches

The corporation is coupling enforcement with a single-window system that issues same-day trade licences.

  • Health teams led by Dr Savita conducted inspections under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, according to Commissioner D S Ramesh.
  • Officials said the facilities were running commercial activities in residential areas and failed to meet conditions under the Greater Bengaluru Authority Act, 2024.
  • Seven of the sealed PGs fall in the Mahadevapura Assembly constituency and the remainder are in KR Puram.
  • A special trade licence drive held from November 10 to 15 across 17 ward offices issued same-day licences to 466 business owners, collecting ₹25.52 lakh through a Single Window System.
  • The corporation has put in place same-day licence issuance upon submission of required documents and is holding special camps alongside continued inspections.
