Bengaluru Cash Van Heist: Gang Posing as RBI Officials Escapes With ₹7.11 Crore

Investigators are examining insider involvement following the trace of a getaway Innova with a fake plate.

Bengaluru: Investigation underway after unidentified men allegedly posing as RBI officials intercepted an ATM cash van and fled with about ₹seven crore, in Bengaluru.
The incident occurred when the vehicle was transporting cash from a bank branch in JP Nagar. (PTI)

  • Men claiming to be Reserve Bank of India officials stopped a CMS cash van near Ashoka Pillar, split the crew, and transferred the money on the Dairy Circle flyover before fleeing.

  • The suspected Innova carried a bogus registration number that belongs to a different car, and it was last tracked toward Bhattarahalli near Hoskote after moving through Domlur and Marathahalli.
  • Investigators detained the driver, two armed guards, and a cash depositor for questioning after noting a delayed alert and minimal resistance from staff.
