Bengaluru Braces for Colder Week as IMD Sees 12–14°C Nights and Foggy Mornings

IMD attributes the cool spell to clear, dry northeasterly flow over the city.

Overview

  • Minimums are forecast to hold between 12°C and 14°C through the week, below Bengaluru’s December mean of about 16.4°C.
  • A dip to 12°C would mark the coldest December minimum since 11 December 2016, based on reported records.
  • Early hours are expected to be misty before skies clear by day, with no rainfall or major weather warnings in the seven-day outlook.
  • A pronounced day-night swing is projected, with roughly 15–18°C before dawn, about 20°C by noon, 27–28°C in the afternoon, and near 19°C by evening.
  • Several southern districts, including Tumkur, Hassan, Kodagu and Kolar, are set to run slightly below normal, with Vijayapura nights already near 13.5°C and expected to fall further.
