Ben Simmons to Miss FIBA World Cup to Rehab Injuries, Focus on 2024 Olympics

Ben Simmons will not play for Australia in the FIBA World Cup due to ongoing rehabilitation from back and knee injuries that limited his NBA season.
The decision was made jointly by Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets, the team he plays for in the NBA.
Simmons has not played for Australia's senior national team since 2013 but hopes to join them for the 2024 Olympics.
Basketball Australia and Simmons' NBA coach wished him well in his recovery and a return to play.
Simmons received an invitation to Australia's pre-World Cup training camp but will not attend as he continues injury rehab.
