BEML Reports Narrower Q1 Losses, Flat Revenue and Secures Major Rail Contracts

The defence-owned manufacturer is targeting high-value coach and metro projects to strengthen its order pipeline despite stagnant top-line growth

Overview

  • BEML narrowed its Q1 FY26 losses by 6.7% year-on-year to Rs 70.2 crore.
  • Revenue remained virtually unchanged at Rs 633.9 crore compared with Rs 634 crore in Q1 FY25.
  • The company secured a Rs 1,888 crore order from Integral Coach Factory for manufacturing, testing, supply and commissioning of LHB coaches.
  • BEML expanded its international footprint with a $1 million contract to retrofit and recondition Malaysia’s Mass Rapid Transport System.
  • The latest orders underscore BEML’s strategy of diversifying into higher-value rail coach and metro segments to offset cyclical revenue pressures.
