Beloved Minneapolis Store Clerk Fatally Impaled in Gruesome Attack

Suspect with Reported Mental Illness History Arrested After Six-Hour Standoff

66-year-old Robert Skafte, a beloved local dancer and grocery store clerk in Minneapolis, was fatally impaled with a golf club in a gruesome attack.
The suspect, 44-year-old Taylor Schulz, was arrested after a six-hour standoff involving negotiators, a SWAT team, a drone unit, and a bomb squad.
Schulz allegedly called 911 before the attack, demanding to speak to the FBI, and has a reported history of mental illness.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation, but it appears to have been unprovoked.
Skafte was remembered as a 'bright light' and a 'pillar of his neighborhood and community', with a memorial set up outside the grocery store.
