• Bella Ramsey has been confirmed as the titular Maya in the six-part Channel 4 thriller.
• Creator and writer Daisy Haggard will co-star as Maya’s mother, Anna, and co-direct her first series with Jamie Donoughue.
• Commissioned by Channel 4’s drama unit under Ollie Madden and Gemma Boswell, Maya is produced by Two Brothers Pictures in association with All3Media International.
• The plot follows a mother and daughter forced into witness protection and relocated to a remote Scottish town as past dangers close in.
• Principal photography is slated to begin in Scotland later this year, with further casting announcements expected soon.
