Overview
- The nine coach semifinalists are Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seifert and Mike Shanahan.
- Belichick is a first-year candidate under a rule adopted last year that requires coaches to be out of the NFL for one full season, and his résumé includes six Super Bowl titles and 333 wins.
- The Coach Blue-Ribbon Committee will meet virtually Nov. 18 to discuss the semifinalists and choose one finalist to advance, after Holmgren held that slot last year but fell short in the final vote.
- The coach finalist will be grouped with one contributor and three seniors candidates, and election requires at least 80% support from the full Selection Committee.
- Ballots are validated and tabulated under Ernst & Young oversight, with the Class of 2026 to be announced at NFL Honors in San Francisco in February and enshrined in Canton in August.
