Belgrade Open Relocates to Athens as Djokovic Withdraws from Cincinnati

Organizers cited inadequate infrastructure in Belgrade, making Athens the host of Greece’s first ATP tournament since 1994.

Overview

  • The ATP Tour confirmed on August 4 that the Belgrade Open licence will stage the Hellenic Championship in Athens from November 2–8, 2025.
  • Serbia Open organizers said they could not guarantee the conditions needed in Belgrade for the 2025 edition.
  • The relocation decision was driven by Novak Djokovic’s family, which holds the tournament licence.
  • Djokovic has withdrawn from the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters and will arrive at the US Open without recent hard-court match play.
  • The move ends Belgrade’s run of nine professional events since 2021 and returns ATP tennis to Greece for the first time in over three decades.
