Beijing Debuts World’s First 4S Robot Mall for Humanoid Robotics

The 4S service hub is part of Beijing’s plan to normalize robotics ahead of the first World Humanoid Robot Games.

Overview

  • The four-story Robot Mall in the E-Town district displays over 100 humanoid machines from more than 40 domestic manufacturers under a sales, service, spare-parts and surveys framework.
  • Robotic units at the mall are priced from about 2,000 yuan up to several million yuan to target both consumer and industrial markets.
  • Visitors can interact with mechanical waiters, chess-playing companions, robotic pets and life-size animatronic figures and dine in a robot-run restaurant.
  • The mall opened on August 8 alongside the five-day World Robot Conference and leads into the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games from August 14 to 17.
  • China has invested over $20 billion in robotics subsidies this year and is finalizing a one trillion-yuan fund to support its AI and robotics industry.
