• An angler spotted the trapped beaver early Saturday in the Main-Danube Canal near the pump station on Kanalstraße in Kelheim, Bavaria.
• The animal was jammed between a fixed ladder and the canal wall with its hindquarters too wide for the gap.
• About 15 members of Feuerwehr Kelheim-Stadt responded and pushed the ladder away from the wall using a hydraulic spreader.
• Roughly 15 minutes later, the beaver used the new space to swim free and appeared uninjured.
