- Suping Zhu, 38, of Flushing, New York, was arrested Friday and charged with deriving support from prostitution, keeping a house of ill fame, and trafficking a person for sexual servitude.
- Zhu is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lawrence District Court after being taken into custody on an arrest warrant.
- Police executed a Sept. 4 search warrant at the Wallace Street spa, seizing computers, phones, and business records and interviewing two women found working there.
- The Methuen Department of Health, Human Services and Inspections ordered the spa closed after officers found basement living quarters in the commercially zoned building, and it remains shut.
- Chief Scott McNamara said the probe is part of a broader enforcement campaign that will also target customers, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.
