Beas Embankment Breaches Confirmed in Mukerian as Relief Ramps Up

  • Punjab’s water resources minister visited affected areas, pledged compensation and reinforcement of bunds, and authorities closed schools in Hoshiarpur (Aug 26–27) and in Pathankot, Jalandhar and Kapurthala (Aug 26), set up a 24/7 control room and issued helpline 0181-2240064.
