Overview
- At about 6:35 a.m. local time, a bear broke a first-floor window and entered a common area of a nursing care facility in Tanabe, Minamiaizu, Fukushima.
- A male staff member witnessed the intrusion, called the emergency number 110, and guided six residents to shelter, with no injuries reported.
- Police said the bear was roughly one meter long and appeared to charge toward the staffer before smashing through a sliding glass door.
- The animal roamed the hall for several minutes and then left; officers later found blood, hair, and shattered glass, and its whereabouts remain unknown.
