BeamNG.drive Set for PS5 Early Access on October 19

The console debut ships the PC 0.40 update with platform-specific upscaling while leaving mod tools off the PlayStation launch.

Overview

  • BeamNG confirmed Thursday that BeamNG.drive will enter Early Access on PlayStation 5 on October 19, timed to coincide with the PC 0.40 update.
  • The PS5 release will use AMD’s FSR 3.0 upscaling on base PS5 and PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution (PSSR) on PS5 Pro to balance performance and image quality.
  • Day-one PlayStation content includes a brand-new vehicle and local split-screen support, while the game exposes its soft-body physics across 12 open maps for sandbox play.
  • Mod support will not be available at launch and mod-authoring tools such as the World Editor are not currently planned for PlayStation, with the developer saying the scope and timing remain under review.
  • No price or pre-order details have been announced, and the move to consoles could reshape the community by limiting PC-style modding while expanding BeamNG’s audience on PlayStation.
