Beacon Fire Burns 3 Acres in Laguna Niguel, Threatens Homes

Overview

  • The brush fire ignited at 3:56 p.m. near Alcott Place and Ridgeway Avenue and grew to roughly three acres by late afternoon.
  • OCFA said nearby homes were at risk and the blaze remained uncontained as crews worked from the air and on the ground.
  • Deployed resources included OCFA Copter 76 and Helitanker 47, a CH-47 Chinook capable of 3,000-gallon water drops, alongside strike teams.
  • Laguna Niguel closed portions of Niguel Road and Camino del Avion and opened a care and reception center at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway.
  • No evacuations were ordered and no injuries or structural losses were reported, with helicopter orbits indicating a slight shift of the active area to the northwest.
