Overview
- The B.C. Ministry of Environment and Parks says all recreational visitors will be barred during the Sept. 2–Oct. 3 closure.
- This will be the third and final temporary closure of 2025 under a joint strategy with the Lil’wat Nation and N’Quatqua.
- Officials say the timing also acknowledges the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30.
- The province says the schedule preserves public access over the Labour Day weekend after the Nations sought additional closure days.
- Earlier closures ran for three weeks starting April 25 and for two weeks in June as managers respond to heavy use at one of B.C.’s busiest parks.
