- BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board has dedicated the IPL 2025 closing ceremony to honor the bravery and selfless service of the Indian Armed Forces under Operation Sindoor.
- Playoffs begin on May 29, with Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians already through to the second round.
- Invitations have been extended to the Chief of Defence Staff, the chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as to top-ranked officers and soldiers.
- The ceremony will feature performances by military bands and renowned singers in a tribute to the forces’ efforts during Operation Sindoor.
- The IPL was paused for a week from May 9 after the Pahalgam attack triggered India-Pakistan tensions and resumed on May 17 following a ceasefire on May 10.
