Overview
- The BCCI confirmed on Sunday that Subhadeep Ghosh will join the India men’s support staff as fielding coach.
- Ghosh takes over after the board decided not to renew T Dilip’s contract, formalizing a change in the specialist coaching group.
- A former Assam and Railways player, Ghosh brings long domestic experience and prior coaching roles with India A, the India women’s team, the NCA and IPL stints with Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals.
- He is scheduled to join the team ahead of a three‑day practice match from August 7 and will work through the two Tests in Sri Lanka on August 15 (Galle) and August 23 (Colombo).
- The move follows other recent staff exits, including assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate’s shift to Kolkata Knight Riders, and raises a short‑term challenge of quickly integrating a new specialist into Gautam Gambhir’s coaching setup.
