- Deputy Noah Hallman was identified as the officer who shot Dennis Hoie, 75, during a Nov. 13 encounter in Bagley.
- The incident began with an attempted arrest on outstanding felony warrants and a brief pursuit that ended after a PIT maneuver in a residential driveway.
- According to the BCA, Hallman broke the passenger-side window as Hoie pulled a flare gun and fired toward deputies on the driver’s side.
- Hallman then fired his handgun, Hoie was pronounced dead at the scene, and a deputy on the driver’s side sustained a non-hospitalized graze wound to the head.
- A flare gun was recovered, Hallman’s body camera recorded the encounter, he is on critical incident leave, and the BCA will submit findings to the Clearwater County Attorney.
