B.C. Targets U.S. Doctors and Nurses With $5 Million Recruitment Campaign

  • The campaign launched on June 2 with a $5 million budget to attract U.S. doctors and nurses to British Columbia.
  • Advertisements appear within a 16-kilometre radius of hospitals and clinics in Washington, Oregon and California, as well as on digital billboards, transit shelters, restaurants and ride-share screens.
  • Since March, nearly 1,600 U.S. healthcare professionals—including 704 doctors and 525 nurses—have expressed interest in relocating to B.C.
  • British Columbia has accelerated credentialing for U.S.-trained nurses, reducing registration times from months to days.
  • Health Minister Jodie Osborne said the campaign aims to reach about 250,000 workers over six weeks and plans to expand international recruitment to the United Kingdom.
