Overview

  • The Cobro al toque pilot, which converts Android v11+ smartphones into contactless payment terminals, has reached over 4,000 merchants and processed more than MXN 1 million since April.
  • Cuenta Digital PyME opens business accounts in under 20 minutes via the BBVA Empresas app and is capped at 30,000 Udis (about MXN 250,000).
  • Pago a Plazos lets merchants offer deferred payment plans of three to 18 months on purchases over MXN 500 directly through the BBVA TPV.
  • División de Cuentas automates bill splitting for group transactions at the point of sale to streamline consumer payments.
  • BBVA México aims to onboard 100,000 additional SMEs and activate 25,000 Cobro al toque merchants by December 2025 to capture the expected surge from 5.5 million World Cup visitors.
