Overview

  • Starting July 1, 2025, applicants must hold a valid E-Khata to receive any online building plan approval within BBMP limits.
  • The civic body has linked its E-Property (E-Aasthi) software with the Ease of Doing Business–Online Building Permission System to enable automated checks of ownership records.
  • Manual submission of property documents to the Revenue Department for verification will be discontinued once the mandate takes effect.
  • Under the new ‘Trust & Verify’ framework, preliminary approvals granted online must be confirmed or rejected by assistant directors within a set timeframe or become deemed approvals.
  • More than 500,000 property owners have already obtained final E-Khatas through the digital E-Aasthi system.
