BBC’s Stranded on Honeymoon Island Sets September 3 Premiere With Davina McCall

The reality experiment strands speed-matched ‘newlyweds’ on remote beaches for a three-week test of resilience and connection.

Overview

  • BBC One schedules the series at 9pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3 September, with three episodes released on iPlayer each Wednesday.
  • Twelve singles are matched after brief speed-dates, ceremonially marry and are left on six tropical beaches in the Philippines with basic rations and no outside contact.
  • The cast of 12 includes a lesbian couple, with Abby and Helen among the named participants released in BBC publicity.
  • Davina McCall hosts in a limited on-screen role, introducing the speed-dating and returning for the finale, and she describes the show as a social experiment following her recovery from benign brain-tumour surgery.
  • The format is produced by Snowman Productions with CPL and features elements such as a shared ‘Couples Cove’ where pairings are further tested.
