BBC Reveals Contestants for Destination X Ahead of July 30 Premiere

Starting July 30 with two episodes a week for five weeks, the show sends contestants on opaque-windowed buses to decipher location clues for a £100,000 prize.

Overview

  • BBC has unveiled its 13 contestants, whose backgrounds range from a 62-year-old crime writer to a 22-year-old content creator.
  • Hosted by Rob Brydon, contestants will ride blindfolded buses with opaque windows across Europe to complete challenges and earn location clues.
  • At the end of each episode, players meet in a ‘map room’ to place an X on their guessed location, eliminating whoever is furthest off.
  • Destination X adapts a Belgian format that has also spawned a US version fronted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
  • The show premieres July 30 on BBC One and iPlayer with two weekly episodes leading to a £100,000 prize for the sole winner.
