Overview
- The BBC has formally greenlit an eight-episode third series of the Sean Bean drama This City Is Ours before season two has aired, an uncommon early renewal by the broadcaster.
- Season two is due to begin later this month and its official synopsis says the story opens with Michael and Diana in Spain being pulled back to answer questions about Ricardo’s death.
- New cast additions for season two include Shaun Evans as former gangster Ozzie Thompson and Álvaro Morte as Felipe, expanding the drama’s roster of characters.
- Reports name Stephen Butchard returning as lead writer for series three and list Left Bank and BBC executives as producers while Sony Pictures Television will continue international distribution.
- Producers plan to film mainly in Liverpool in 2027, a move that reflects the show’s strong commercial start in 2025 and could secure local jobs and longer-term production planning for the series.
