Baytown Mother Jailed on Child Injury, Meth Charges After Son Found in Feces-Filled Room

Court records describe a locked, feces-contaminated room that investigators say left an 11-year-old with autism severely neglected.

Overview

  • Police say the investigation began in May at a mobile home on E. Homan Street, where an officer reported a strong fecal odor, flies, and dried feces on floors and a mattress.
  • Court documents state the bedroom door was replaced with a screen that was kept locked to confine the child.
  • Medical records cited in filings report the boy weighed about 46 pounds, had extensive tooth decay, and had dried feces on his body, including on his teeth and in his ears.
  • On Oct. 7, officers arrested Rachel Nicole Blaylock and say a belt-worn cylinder she claimed held “baby daddy’s ashes” tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.
  • Blaylock is held in the Harris County Jail on a $250,000 bond, and investigators say the child is receiving care in foster placement.
