BayernDortmund Set for Oct. 18 on Sky as New Bundesliga Rights Shape Viewing

The matchup reflects a rights package that routes most live coverage to Sky with streams on Sky Go or WOW.

Overview

  • The 18:30 Topspiel at the Allianz Arena will not air free-to-air and is exclusive to Sky, with subscribers able to stream on Sky Go or WOW.
  • Bayern have opened with ten straight wins under Vincent Kompany, while Niko Kovač’s Dortmund are unbeaten with 14 points from six matches.
  • In the 2025/26–2028/29 cycle the DFL distributes about €1.121 billion per season, with Sky carrying Friday, Saturday afternoon and the Saturday night Topspiel.
  • DAZN shows the Sunday windows and adds a Saturday afternoon conference, Sat.1 has select free matches including the opener, Relegation and Supercup, and ARD, ZDF and RTL+ provide highlights with ZDF airing one Topspiel free-to-air.
  • The season runs from 22 August 2025 to 16 May 2026 with a winter break from 22 December to 9 January and Relegation on 21–26 May; Sky remains the home of the 2. Bundesliga, RTL takes the Saturday evening 2. Bundesliga slot, and MagentaTV shows every 3. Liga match live.
